The town of Hinsdale was formed in the late 1860s when the railroad route was established, and now it’s just a 20 minute train ride to downtown Chicago.
Ryan Restorations does the vast majority of work in the Robbins Park Historic District. This is just south of the train tracks also bordered by County Line Road, Garfield and 55th Street. The district enjoys meandering roads, which preserves the mature landscapes.
Many homes were constructed using natural materials such as brick, stone, stucco and wood. So tile and slate roofs are a perfect match for such homes. In a time of tear down and rebuilds, it is a breath of fresh air to have such a significant historic district to apply our company’s skills.
Notable architect Harold Zook had quite an influence on the area with his signature spider web designs and chevron patterns.
The historic downtown has retained its character over the years and we like to frequent Fontana’s during the lunch hour.
